Judge Wood served as Presiding Judge of Harris County Probate Court No. 2 for twenty-five (25) years and as Administrative Judge of the Probate Courts of Harris County.
Mike Wood graduated from Highland Park High School, Rice University, and the University of Texas School of Law. Upon graduation from Rice University in 1970, Mike was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in USAR.
Mike practiced law in Houston, Texas from 1973 to 1993 in the areas of oil & gas, real estate, and civil litigation, frequently serving as a court appointed mediator, receiver, special master, and attorney and guardian ad litem.
After serving as Judge of Harris County Probate Court No. 2 for over twenty-five years, he retired in 2018. Mike and his wife, Sharolyn, live in Harris County and have three children and six grandchildren.
Judge Wood is a Senior Captain in the Houston Volunteer Fire Department.
